Chin to Chin, the Painting and Limited Edition Prints

Completed November, 2007

Chin to Chin the paintingThis acrylic on canvas painting has been in work for several years.

Acrylics offer more intense color and more detail than water colors. The original painting measures 30 x 38 inches. Limited edition prints are available with an image of 18x14" on 22x18" archival paper.

This art is designed to provide great memories for the lacrosse player who was active before the era of Cascade helmets and refined sticks.

In the 70s, 80s and early 90s, structural differences in the equipment of that era offered less ball control than today's engineered sticks. A stick check of earlier days had greater efficiency, resulting in more loose balls. As a consequence, since the loose ball is the primary arena for physical contact, players were engaged in what I capriciously term shillelagh law. It was man to man and chin to chin, and row and eruption soon began. This was an era of rugged lacrosse deserving special acknowledgment through my art Chin to Chin.
